Please Plug your Ipod to continue....
My Ipod is plugged in, yet I get this message!

Why?

Re: Please Plug your Ipod to continue....
I am having the same problem, i am using yamipod on linux (Vector Linux, its a slackware variation) and i plug my ipod and it shows that message, my computer does recognize the partition, yet yamipod, doesn't. I have followed the instructions correctly, yet it will not recognize the device.
Has anyone had (and maybe solved) this problem?

Have you mount the iPod under /mnt or /media? Have you added at least one song with iTunes (on a win or mac box)?

Re: Please Plug your Ipod to continue....
I am seeing this as well. I have an IPod Mini. It has been reset under iTunes and one complete Album loaded to it.

It is recongnized by Linux (Gentoo) upon plug-in as sda2 and mounted as /mnt/ipod.

However, I can not get it recognized under Yamipod.

Hints?

BTW, I got it to work in a previous lifetime before I updated the kernel, wiped the disk and started Linux (Gentoo) installation from scratch.

Re: Please Plug your Ipod to continue....
Update:

I got mine to work with the following:

Unplug iPod (Mini in my case)
umount /mnt/ipod
verify good unmount with "mount"
rm -r /mnt/ipod
mkdir /mnt/ipod
plug in iPod
verify good plug by "tail /var/log/messages"
mount /dev/sda2 /mnt/ipod
./Yamipod
everything loads OK

I may not have unmounted the previous connection to the iPod. Worth a try...
