Re: Development enviornment
YamiPod is entirely written in RealBasic (http://www.realsoftware.com). It's very similar to Visual Basic but in my opinion even better because of it's cross plattform capabilities, and becuase libraries are statically linked in the executable not requiring any particular .dll to be installed. This is why it works from win98 to winxp sp2 without any installation.

Re: Development enviornment
Hello,

how did you implemented the iPod music database support?
Do you have a description of the database in detail or do you use a "third party" dll or something?

Kind regards, FFNB.

Re: Development enviornment
Hi,

no dlls, remember this is an app that runs under MacOS X and Mac OS9, in future there *may* be a linux version as well, so dll isn't the solution at all.

It all pure code.

Re: Development enviornment
Hello,

so where do you have the iPod database format description from? Is there anywhere a spec directly from Apple?

Thank you!

Kind regards, FFNB.

Re: Development enviornment
Nope there's no specs from Apple. Just google for iTunesDB and get a good hex editor.
