Also, I have a perrenial ipod problem. My Quicktime is corrupted in some way & cannot be removed, overwritten etc & hence I cannot use iTunes at all. Does Yamipod work independantly from iTunes? Can Yamipod installed on a PC recognise an ipod formatted with a Mac? Is there any hope for me?

Yamipod works only if Itunes is not installed.
I think that yamipod can work with your ipod only when it will be the onli pod manager on your pc.
Have you tried to uninstall ONLY itunes from the Control Panel - Add/Remove Programs?

I can remove itunes, but not quicktime (itunes does not work without quicktime). Anyway, thats not a problem because I am happy to use Yamipod if its as good as it sounds.

What about the bittorent question? can I follow the links you previously gave or do I need to install Bittorrent first?

Surely you have to install a torrent client, unless you're using Opera browser that includes a built-in torrent downloader.
This method is valid only if you want to download Yamipod via torrent, otherwise you can use the normal links.
