Yamipod complains about incorrect FWID with ipod classic
Hello folks.

I have a new ipod classic and dont wanna use that crap of alpha software dirt called itune$.
Yamipod seems a good alternative but the program complains about incorrect FWID when i connect to the ipod.
The FWID=serial number is copied from the My Mcintosh USB section of the ipod. Its the only 16 digit serial number.

This are the Data section of the ipod:

Kapazität: 74.34 GB
Wechselmedien: Ja
Absteckbares Laufwerk: Ja
BSD-Name: disk2
Version: 0.01
Bus-Strom (mA): 500
Geschwindigkeit: Bis zu 480 MBit/s
Hersteller: Apple Inc.
OS 9 Treiber: Nein
Produkt-ID: 0x1261
Seriennummer: 000A27001549EFF4
S.M.A.R.T.-Status: Nicht unterstützt
Hersteller-ID: 0x05ac (Apple Computer, Inc.)
88 IPOD 88:
Kapazität: 74.34 GB
Verfügbar: 63.35 GB
Beschreibbar: Ja
Dateisystem: MS-DOS FAT32
BSD-Name: disk2s1
Mount-Point: /Volumes/88 IPOD 88

The above shown serial number: 000A27... i have used in the FWID dialog.
Why is that the program complains that this FWID is not correct.

The ipod method to get the FWID dosnt work because accordind to Apple germany, there is no About info on ipods for the european market anymore to prevent illegal reverse engineering and manipulation with the copyrighted firmware.

So the snappy apple hotline person says.

What can i do to get the program working.

Thanks in advance.

Re: Yamipod complains about incorrect FWID with ipod classic
I have an iPod Classic 80GB and aquired the FWID with the ml_ipod plugin for Winamp but Yamipod complains that it is incorrect.
In the debug mode on my iPod, the second number it showed was 2******. And my FWID is supposed to be 000a270015****** according to ml_ipod. (with same 6 nibbles)
Which makes 0015 the model number? (iPod classic 80GB)
I live in Europe b.t.w., so I think that the little apple hotline story is totally bullshit. I also have latest firmware installed. Perhaps that's a problem?
