YamiPod 1.7b1 and 160gig iPod
160 gig iPod; 120gig of content: music mostly a little photo, a little video. YamiPod read the contents of the Ipod OK. I made a couple of changes so the album titles would be consistent and exited the program (on the way out I told you all was well. I retract that now). I closed the USB device OK and unplugged the iPod.

All the tunes are gone. All the video is gone.

You're not through developing YamiPod yet.....

Windows XP (SP2) on a Dell D620 LT (this is not the machine that runs iTunes). Brand new iPod; took all the updates, latest version of iTunes.....

As stated it's a beta. So these problems may happen. That said try deleting the yamipod folder under iPod_Control in your iPod.

then start YamiPod again and select your iPod generation specifing the fwid as described here.

This may fix your problem.

My FWID according to the instructions (using the keypress method) is 15 characters long.... Foiled there...

Hey, similar problem with 80G classic. I've fetched a few songs from my iPod (no changes), everything went fine, after disconnect no music seen by iPod software. It seems the files are all there so most probably I'll be able to fix this. Do you need some files to troubleshoot or I should go on with fixing?

Re: YamiPod 1.7b1 and 160gig iPod
Same here, yamipod does not generate FWID automatically even though I have Itunes Installed. I tried getting the FWID from within the Ipod, but from the third and second lines I only get 15 digits. Please help me.
Ohh, I should note that one of those digits is a letter, a letter "d" to be more exact.

each line of the fwid is 8 characters (letters and numbers) long. 2 lines should give you 16 characters.

Hey Thanks for Replying, but I have the new Ipod 80gb Classic. and first of all the method of obtained the FWID is a little different. First, I did the whole press menu+Enter to get to the apple logo, then I did the rewind+enter to get the SRV Diago Boot, then it shows me 2 options. One Says Menu: Manual Test. The other says Previous: Auto Test. I pressed Manual Test. After that it gives me 7 options, I choose the sixth one "SystemCfg"
then I see the following:

xxxxxxxxxxx (I believe this is the serial number)
xxxxxxx 7 letters and number
xxxxxxxx 8letters and numbers
xxxxxx 6 numbers
SB
1.0
BXxxxxxxxxxx
mbxxx

1.0xx0
xxxxxxxx
xxxxxxxx

Hope this helps.
