Serious startup problem - isn't solved with running iTunes or redownloading Yamipod
I cannot find any information about this error in the docu. It has bugged me for about a week now. Upon startup I get this error message:

Something unexpected happened:

Sub MainWindow.MainWindow.ipodwasconnected( MainWindow.MainWindow )
Sub MainWindow.MainWindow.ChkForIpod_Action( MainWindow.MainWindow )

The program then closes. Can't do nothing.
If I launch iTunes, the iPod is recognized and synchronized, but YamiPod still won't start.
I also tried redownloading the YamiPod client, which didn't solve the problem either.

How do I solve the problem?

I have the same problem. I am running Ubuntu 6.06. My ipod is the first generation 10GB

Rythmbox starts up and reads ipod fine[I then close rb and launch yami].Yamipod starts and I
get dialogue : "Something Unexpected Happened" with the trace messages you described. Yami continues to run with the messages 'loading' but never comes back.

I fixed this problem:

- I had to 'flatten' my ipod
- Hook it up to ITunes running on Windows.
- Move at least 1 mp3 on to the ipod
- Reconnect to Ubuntu
